Our Club

Our Club

DTC has approximately 300 members almost evenly split between male and female; they range in age from young kids to young at heart and from beginners to Ironman competitors. While primarily centred on Darwin, our events are conducted year-round at various locations, including Lake Bennett. The club not only conducts triathlons but also duathlons (ride/run), aquathons (swim/run), mountain bike (off-road) triathlons and specialty events such as our Christmas and Australia Day races. Volunteers manage the club and new members can find support and advice from experienced athletes and a number of club coaches.

Come & Try

Come & Try

Each season DTC runs a number of Come & Try events to give beginners and non-members a chance to experience triathlon. These are short events coupled with a club race so you get to mix with and observe experienced triathletes in action. Come & Try events are often traffic managed, while members of Mindil Surf Lifesaving Club provide all our races with water safety. It is not unusual for these events to attract up to 100 people, making for great fun. Many of our members enter the sport from a simple Come & Try event.

JOIN UP

JOIN UP

Apart from the Come & Try events, you must be a current member to participate in club races. When you join Darwin Triathlon Club your fees cover membership of Triathlon NT and Triathlon Australia, which covers you with insurance whilst competing and training. While everyone tries hard at our events we don’t lose sight of why we participate in triathlon: for the enjoyment of staying fit and healthy and to have fun! We have a number of volunteers who enjoy photography and the club often retains a professional photographer to shoot important events. Some of those images can be seen here.
